35 Weeks!!!

Taking my neice to see Santa....

She was sooo excited all through the line to get to see Santa and then when it was her turn she didn't want to go near him!! With a little coaxing we were able to get some decent shots :)






Next year Henry and I will be taking Fionna to see Santa, I cannot wait to see how she will react to her first "Santa" experience!!

Hubby's Fine Handiwork

Well the final stages of getting ready for Fionna's arrival have begun. Tonight Hubby put together his FIRST but definately not his last piece of baby furniture :) Here is a picture of Fionna's cradle!!!



As her due date approaches and the more uncomfortable I get I am reminded that in a few short weeks our lives will forever change and we cannot wait!!!

Almost 33 weeks!!

On Friday I will be 33 weeks along---today I had my weekly checkup which was the same ol routine except for the fact that they wanted to do an ultrasound to check Fionna's growth....Well our little angel is already weighing in at 5 lbs 6 oz (that puts her in the 82% percentile for size). The average range for a baby at her gestation is anywhere from 4 lbs to 4 lbs 10 oz. So she is well on her way to being a LARGE healthy baby!! I am told that this is normal for babies whose mom has Gestational Diabetes and not to worry and that there is nothing that I can do to control her growth! The normal baby gains about 1/2 lb a week at this point so I am guessing at a minimum if Fionna goes to full term she will be around 9 lbs, most likely she will be bigger than that though. I am told they will do another ultrasound around 37-38 weeks to check her growth once again because once they get near the 9 lb range then we will have to discuss the risks of a vaginal birth versus a c-section.

But other than that I got a clean bill of health and clearance to travel this weekend so Hubby, I, and our 3 miniature dachshunds will be traveling to Miami for the Thanksgiving holiday as well as my 2nd baby shower :)

60 days and counting down!!

Wow only 60 days to go until Fionna's due date.....I can still remember when 9 months seemed so far away now the nerves are setting in because I know the big day is right around the corner!!!!

Yesterday was my 27th birthday and as something fun to do we scheduled our 4D ultrasound for yesterday!! Here are some shots of little Miss Fionna as well as my ever expanding belly at 31 weeks!!!

Nursery Work and Nesting....

While I cannot do much physical work, like getting the painting and the nursery ready for me to organize it, I have started nesting in other parts of the house! So this afternoon while hubby got the help of his friend to put up the crown molding in the nursery, I worked on pulling everything out of the linen and tolietry closets and re-organizing them from top to bottom!!!

Belly is really growing now!!

Today was Hubbby and I's 2nd Wedding Anniversary, so to celebrate we went to dinner at Salt Rock Grill and then for a walk on the beach in front of the hotel where we were married!!

Parents In Training...

Hubby and I are learning to take advantage of babysitting our niece as practice for the upcoming arrival of our baby girl! This weekend we took Joselyn to the Florida Aquarium...here are a few pictures!!

Working on the To Do List...

Well Hubby and I are trying to whittle away the to do list before Fionna Ann arrives.....this week Henry along with the help of my step dad, were able to get the new shelving up in her closet. Then that left me free to hang up all of the clothes that I have gotten for her :) Well the bottom row is everything that I have bought, and the top row is stuff that was handed down to Fionna from her older cousin Joselyn!!

Here is a pic of the closet!!! (Don't mind the paint color--- we bought the purple paint for the nursery but that is a project for next weekend when we return from Miami visiting my in-laws!!!)

Anniversary Coming Up

Well my 2nd anniversary is around the corner and with Fionna coming it is consuming all of our time, I want to do something special for my hubby but money is tight so I have to get creative :) I want to start/finish the wedding scrapbook that I intended on making 2 years ago but I am not sure that I will be able to finish it in time!!! Guess we will see how good under pressure I can be while 6 months pregnant and not much time to work on a project like that without my hubby knowing about!!! Wish me luck!!!

4D Ultrasound!!

I know to some it may seem like a waste of money but after seeing the images that my sister and my roommate from college got of their babies from their 4D ultrasounds, I knew that when I was expecting that I would want to get one done too!!

So this morning I called to make my appointment with the place. I have opted to go to a location Look Who's Kickin that specializes in this instead of having it done at my doctor's office. We are going to go have it done on my 27th birthday and I thought it would be nice to have it done in such a nice setting!!!

I cannot wait to see Fionna's little face in color :)

Motherhood is Looming....

It is hard to believe that soon I will actually be a mom!! I have wanted to be a mom since forever. I guess that maternal instinct has been cultivated in me since my parents were divorced and I took over the role of taking care of my little sister and brother. While they aren't so little anymore, I am still the "mother" of the group. Now I am going to have a little one of my own!!! I have wanted this for so long, and now I am in a position to be ready for a baby and I am scared to death. I am wondering if I am going to be able to be a good mom and raise my daughter the way that I want her to be. I guess the only way to know is to live through it and see how it goes :)

I have about 4 more months to make sure the house and the nursery is ready for Fionna Ann's arrival. In the beginning it seemed like my pregnancy was dragging on and now it seems like in no time I will be going into labor and she will be here!!! So much to do, so little time!!! I think its time to make one of my infamous TO DO lists so that I can make sure I accomplish everything that I want to before she comes!! Then there is also getting my department ready at work for me to be on maternity leave for 12 weeks!!! Whew!!! Is four months going to be enough time????

Well I am now at the halfway point of my pregnancy it is all downhill from here....The next few months will be full of painting, registering, baby showers, and getting the nursery all ready for Fionna's arrival in January!!!

Cleaning and Babysitting

I get cabin fever sometimes because it feels like since we found out that we were expecting our weekends usually consist of some cleaning (usually laundry--that lovely weekly chore), grocery shopping, and lots of laying around :) Especially since I have Fridays off too now I think that makes me feel like I am a bum most of the time. I know its good for me to rest but I am still holding out for that burst of energy that everyone tells me is "supposed" to come with the 2nd trimester. I have been in my 2nd trimester for 3-4 weeks now and while I have noticed a little bit more energy on some days, it is definitely still not moving in an upward trend!! I am looking forward to finding out the sex of the baby so we can start decorating the nursery, registering and all that fun stuff which will give me plenty to do inside and outside of the house!!


Here is a picture of my niece trying on a backpack that we picked up for her at the back-to-school bash that Henry and I attended a couple weeks ago. There was supposed to be this large baby section but it was definitely lacking, but at least it did get us out of the house for a few hours :)



I went shopping last weekend and got the last few supplies that I needed to get started on my first homemade baby project. I have had a vision of what I wanted to make even before I got pregnant so I am just hoping that I can make it look something close to my vision. Here are pictures of all my supplies before I get started :)





I am also getting very excited as it is less than 2 weeks now until Hubby and I go for our ultrasound to check on the baby's growth and hopefully determine if we are going to be welcoming a baby boy or girl in January. And the day after that we head to Las Vegas for 4 days and 4 nights of R&R. This will be our last big trip before the baby comes!! I cannot wait to lounge around the pool and not be on any schedule. I am not bringing the laptop along and I am putting the cell phones on silent so Hubby and I can get some quality time in together as well :)

16 weeks and exhausted....

Sorry for the lack of posts lately but it just seems like now that I am pregnant and working 4 ten hour work days it seems like time flies by.

Well I have made it into the 2nd trimester and I have to say I am still exhausted most of the time. I think it is mainly contributed to the fact that I don't sleep very well at night--I am very restless trying to get comfortable. I just keep thinking I am not that big yet, how bad is it going to be when I'm 8-9 months pregnant and huge lol. I guess I will just have to cross that bridge when it comes to it. At my last checkup at 14 weeks I had gained a total of 4 pounds since I got pregnant not too bad but I need to watch it to make sure its not 3 pounds every time I go back to the OB for my checkups :) I am excited to report that in 3 weeks we should know if we will be welcoming a boy or a girl as part of our new family. Then the next day hubby and I are off to Las Vegas for a babymoon for 5 days--- I cannot wait!! I do not have many vices but I do love to play the slots and sometimes try my luck on the tables....My best friend taught my how to pay video roulette last time we were there and I did pretty well at it, so I hope to show my hubby how to play this trip. And I hope he has a better visit to Las Vegas because last summer when we met up with Candice and Mike he spent most of the trip in the hotel room because he got food poisoning. Here's to a better vacation this time around :)

Cooking Bug

Tonight when I got home from work I got a cooking bug and with the help of my lovely assistant, my hubby, we made homemade beef lo mein which came out great.



After dinner I still had the cooking bug so I baked a cake :) It really is true that the pregnant womans life revolves around food hehe!!




While the cake was baking my honey and I played a few rounds of Uno, which was alot of fun although we are both pretty competitive it was all in good fun!!! We had such a good time that tomorrow night we are going to play a board game. I am not sure which game but it will probably end up being Monopoly!!
